Based in North London but originally from West Yorkshire, Rachel specialises in portrait photography. Her sincere, candid shots capture her subjects in a moment of animation or contemplation and her strong passion for the analogue film process means her images are rarely retouched and are hand printed straight from the negative/trans.
Rachel has photographed cultural and creative icons including Jake & Dinos Chapman, Alexa Chung, Ellie Goulding, Michaela de Pury, Gerald Scarfe, Johnny Vegas, Kate Tempest, John Lloyd and Jeremy Paxman. Her work has been exhibited widely including a solo exhibition at the BFI Southbank documenting British satirists and most recently at the Sonos Studio London showcasing British songwriters in collaboration with Domino Publishing.
Rachel also works as one half of creative arts duo Wolf & Diva. Together they work to hybridise the arts of photography and interviewing to offer a deeper insight into their subjects by documenting the circumstances in which an image is captured. They record their interview-photography sessions in sync and exhibit the images and audio together so that audiences can both immerse themselves in the world of the interviewee, and know the precise moment at which an image was captured.
Rachel is represented by MBK London.
